Hostel Description
A large cozy lounge with a log fire in winter overlooks the lake and is the ultimate place for watching the incredible shades of blue of this glacier fed lake.
Experience a variety of walks, fishing, and scenic flights around Mt Cook and glaciers. Play squash and golf, or have a go at ice-skating, cross-country & downhill skiing. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, or take a tour of the Southern Hemisphere by night. Stargazing tours depart from close to the hostel.
Amongst our staff, the following languages are spoken: Japanese, Mandarin, Malay, some French, and some Spanish.

YHA New Zealand is a non-profit membership organization. Non-members pay an additional NZ$3 per person per night fee upon check-in. Memberships can be purchased online or at the hostel.
