Hot Winter deals include FREE BREAKFAST and Free nightly WINTER SPECIALS such as hot chocolate pudding & ice cream, soup and homemade bread and much more are on offer from May 1st to take the chill off winter. Our hostel is family owned, spacious, clean and homely. Everyone says it has a nice feel to it. In winter we light the log fire every night and all the rooms have heaters.
We also supply extra duvets and hot water bottles for those that feel the cold (not that you should need it our hostel is always kept very warm).

It is a hostel which attracts a wide variety of nationalities and ages (not usually group travellers) and we try to ensure that everyone feels welcome and enjoys their stay (of course).

Sequoia Lodge Backpackers is the perfect base from which to explore the world famous Marlborough Sounds or walk the Queen Charlotte Track. Buses and most activity operators will pick up and/or drop off right at our front door. Everyone that works here has a lot of local knowledge and is happy to share it and book anything for you. We can ticket buses, water taxis, kayak trips and all activities

Or maybe you'll want to kick back for awhile and use the hostel as a place to plan your whole South Island trip. Either way we're sure that you'll enjoy your stay.

On rainy days you can chill out in a movie theatre room which has SKY TV featuring latest sports & movies and on sunnier days there are hammocks and lots of outdoor areas to laze in

Also available are bikes for you to use (no charge) to explore the area. Off-street parking and free lugguage storage. FREE local calls/no phone card surcharge on our hostel phone.

Sequoia Lodge Backpackers is about 8 minutes walk from the Picton ferry terminal & town - close but far enough away to avoid the noise of the Port and the trains. It overlooks Nelson Square - just for the sequoia tree across the road.
