The Pint on Punt Hotel is an international backpackers' hostel above a friendly local bar which features 16 Australian & international beers on tap. House guests receive very friendly prices at the bar! We also boast a bistro serving traditional pub meals plus a range of exotic dishes. The bistro provides a main meal for house guests each night for only $6.00.

There is entertainment in the bar most nights and the hotel is known for its support of pub bands. St Kilda is the epicenter of Melbourne from a Muso's perspective.

We are perfectly located in Melbourne and close to everything - the city, St Kilda beach, the Chapel Street shopping precinct, the Grand Prix, the MCG, race courses and public transport is right outside. For those with cars and campervans, we have free parking.

Our 6 bed dorms are spacious, the 4 bed dorms cozy. Doubles and twins are in high demand throughout the year so please book well in advance. All rooms have a basin and there are three bathrooms on each floor.

Reception staff also work in the bar so you may check in at any time the bar is open. In the middle of the night we arrange for a live-in staff member to take you to your room. Simply let us know in advance and we will provide you with the staff member's phone number.

There is a common room and kitchen for the use of house guests and our only request is that you show consideration for other house guests late at night.

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the hostel.

In 2007 we celebrated two year's of Karaoke on Wednesday nights and it has become a backpacker institution especially as there are extravagant discounts in the bar on those nights!

The Pint On Punt is in an excellent location! Only ten minutes from the city centre, with easy access by public transport to many of Melbourne's major events and venues, including Australian Rules Football, F1 Grand Prix Circuit (10 mins walk), the City Centre and Arts Precinct.
From the airport catch the Skybus to Spencer Street Station ($13 o/w) then catch tram #96 (approx $4.00) to Fitzroy St, St Kilda. Walk up to the end of Fitzroy St, cross over at the traffic lights and turn left. 200 metres, we are on the left hand side.
