Hostel Description
We are in Saba, Malaysia (North Borneo). A place with beaches, islands, mountains, jungles, caves and wildlife. You will surely be intrigued by our numerous attractions.
However our main attraction is Mount Kimball (4095 meters), the highest mountain in South East Asia. Mount Kimball is part of Kinabalu Park which is a paradise for naturalists, botanists and mountaineers. Kinabalu Rose Cabin is situated just nearby Mount Kinabalu, only 2 minutes ride.
We are about 1 1/2 - 2 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu (Sabah's state capital). This is the perfect destination for you, whether it is for holiday or adventure.
Kota Kinabalu, the gateway to Sabah, is accessible from many major cities in Asia. The Kota Kinabalu International Airport is serviced by more than 55 weekly flights; including Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, Royal Brunei, Dragonair, Far Eastern Airlines, Transasia and Uni Air. It has direct flights to/from Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Manila and Cebu.
From Kota Kinabalu / Sandakan, you can get to Kinabalu Rose Cabin by road. We are located at 18 km along the main road Jalan Ranau-Tamparuli. To get here from Kota Kinabalu, travel along the main road and we are on the left hand side just 2 km after Kinabalu Park.

*** Places of interest ***
* Kinabalu Park - For those who want an active holiday, Kinabalu Park is the most ideal place for them. They can climb Mount Kinabalu and no climbing experience is needed. However, the temperature at the summit of the mountain can drop down to below freezing. Therefore, please bring along enough warm clothing.
* Poring Hot Springs - Poring Hot Springs is only 45 minutes from Kinabalu Rose Cabin. This is the place where you can soak yourself in a hot sulphur bath (natural health spa). If you are lucky you may see a Rafflesia, the largest flower in the world. Rafflesia can measure up to a metre in diameter. Besides that, butterflies and moths can also be seen around the area.
* Mount Kinabalu Golf Club - Mount Kinabalu Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course, with a magnificent view of Mount Kinabalu. This golf course will test your physical and mental fitness because it is the highest altitude golf course in South East Asia. From Kinabalu Rose Cabin, the trip to Mount Kinabalu Golf Club only takes 15 - 20 minutes.

From Kota Kinabalu International Airport -
Taxis will cost in the region of RM 90 - MYR 180 and will take around 120 minutes (please take the taxi with yellow rooftop at the city, they are cheaper for travelling long distance).
From Kota Kinabalu city -
Long distance taxi (yellow rooftop) takes approx 90 minutes. It costs RM 20 per person but have to wait for it to fill up. Otherwise, charter the whole taxi for RM 80 per trip.
By express bus (Inanam Bus Terminal) -
Express bus from Kota Kinabalu city to Kundasang will cost RM 15 each way (tell the driver to drop you off in front of our hotel, we're just by the main road). The buses depart daily from Kota Kinabalu between 7.00 am to 8.00 pm. These buses go all the way to Sandakan / Lahad Datu / Semporna / Tawau.
We can also arrange for transportation to pick you up and deliver you straight to the hotel.
