Glebe Village is a bohemian treasure tucked away in inner city Sydney, a backpackers oasis with heaps of cheap eats, cafes and clothes stores. Settled in 1792 Glebe has managed to retain much of its heritage charm. Huge terrace houses, smaller workers cottages, long winding streets, big trees and a magnificent dominating church are framed by views of the Harbor Bridge and Sydney's awesome sky line.

If the unusual is your fetish then you would be sure to find it at the Glebe Market (held every Saturday) - second hand clothes, crafts, books, and arguably the most unique collection of jewelry you'll find anywhere in Sydney.

Renowned for the diversity of its locals, Glebe is home to yuppies, students, artists, musicians, families and everything in between.

You can choose to simply enjoy the community atmosphere or use Glebe Village as a base for exploring Sydney and its surrounds. The hostel is located in the heart of town. Everything is close - clothes, food, sights, sounds and smells ? it's all here. And its central location means easy access to and from the city.

To get to Glebe Village from the city catch bus #431, #432, #433 or #434 from anywhere on the eastern side of George Street. By car, follow George Street south towards Central Station until it feeds into Broadway, then turn right on to Glebe Point Road opposite Victoria Park. Or catch the light rail (tram).
