Hostel Directions

Airplanes
The easiest way to reach Koh Samui is flying with Bangkok Airways. It flies daily from Bangkok to Koh Samui. There are minimum 8 flights a day. It takes 1 hour and 10 minutes by ATR72-200 and takes 45 minutes by BOEING717 Bangkok Airways also has a daily direct flight From Singapore to Koh Samui. You can check its flight timetable and book a flight at www.bangkokair.com.
The other airline is Thai Airways but it flies daily from Bangkok to Suratthani. You have to take a bus service to Donsak Ferry Pier and take a ferryboat to Koh Samui. It may be cheaper but you need to add 4 hours to your journey.

Trains
When travel from Bangkok to Koh samui, it is highly recommended you get a night sleeper train. These trains are more comfortable and ensure smoother bus and ferry connections. All trains are run from Hualamphong Station. We advice that you buy a combination ticket which will include all your transport right through Samui. Train tickets can vary greatly in price depending on the carriage class and whether the carriage is air-conditioned or fan. When you are travelling from Samui up to Bangkok the last ferries that connect to a bus to take you to the Suratthani train station leave from Nathon at 3.30pm. There are many trains leaving every evening going to Bangkok. For more information, please contact our First Island Tour.

Buses
Bangkok to Samui buses leave from the Southern Bus Terminal. There are V.I.P., first and second-class buses available. These are all air-conditioned. The bus journey takes around 12 hours.

Ferries
There are two ferry services from Donsak, Suratthani to Koh Samui. The first one is Raja Ferry leaving every hour started from 5.00pm till 7.00pm. Another is Seatran Ferry normally leaving every two hours and leaving every hour in peak/holiday season. It takes about 1.5 hours from Donsak to Koh Samui.
