Hostel Description
On the edge of the city centre you'll find Fortitude Valley, the hub of nightlife entertainment in Brisbane, with art galleries, pubs, nightclubs, cafes, ethnic shops of every variety; all 100 meters from Bunk's front door and ten minutes walk from the city centre. Chinatown is literally just around the corner: there you'll find a diverse spread of authentic Asian food and Aussie souvenirs at great prices. On the weekends the Valley Mall and Chinatown have handcraft and fashion markets, live music and a great laid back atmosphere that suits travelers from all walks of life. Bunk's travel agency GO can organize any tours/ travel to anywhere you want to go. Alternatively, public transport is at your doorstep so you can see Brisbane at your own pace.

For help with finding the right tour for you or to see Brisbane on your own, come and see 'Go travel' on the ground floor and we'll point you in the right direction. We can help plan and book any tours and transport to get you to and from where ever you want to go via bus, train, plane/ private vehicle hire for all over Qld/ interstate. If you're looking for a job or need advice on how to get a bank account, tax file number, etc, we'll have the contacts and forms necessary to get you started plus a list of employment agencies that place emphasis on casual backpacking labor.
Facilities:
There's nothing more Aussie than a BBQ and cold beer by the pool, and no better way to meet and mingle with fellow travelers than our massive sundeck by the pool and bar. Enjoy gourmet meals served 5 - 9pm nightly.
In Brissie it's always warm enough to jump in the pool and chill out or get the ball from reception and start a water polo game/ volleyball on the huge sundeck encasing the pool. Relax in the bubbly spa and if you need to rent a towel or get sunscreen we've got them too.
Bunk offers brand new 4/6/8 share dorms and twins/doubles all with air con and en-suite bathroom. Single private rooms are also available. Our Arts Block6 share dorms are only $21 per person, per night for the budget conscious due to being above our bar with noise audible until 5am on weekends. Most Bunk room features include lockers, individual reading lights and privacy bed screens. Fresh linen is already on your bed complete with a cozy duvet. The en-suites are squeaky clean, so there's no need to wear your thongs in the shower! We have recently opened a new level with one and two bedroom apartments with their own kitchen, bathroom, fridge and TV. Our Deluxe doubles are huge with en-suite, TV, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. All new rooms have beautiful views of Brisbane.
Birdee Num Num - backpacker and student bar - adjoins Bunk and transcends guests, backpackers, students and funked up locals alike into surreal surroundings with a cool, laid back vibe. As we are a licensed premises, all guests need to provide photo ID upon check in, under 18's must inform us before arrival and be accompanied by a responsible adult.
To keep in touch use our internet cafe, it has fast cable connection at low rates, you can also type and print documents, just see the guys at reception for assistance. We also sell international phone cards at discounted rates.
For the self sufficient traveler, our huge kitchen is an oasis for budding naked chefs. Chinatown/ Brunswick Street malls are 1 minute walk away with loads of Asian fresh fruit and veggie shops, or add 4 minutes walk and shop to your hearts content at one of the major supermarkets.
All the comforts of home in-house; Coin washing and drying machines, along with washing powder for sale at front reception (irons available, oompaloompa's to do ironing wanted)!
Security is the only aspect of us that is tight, with swipe card systems, security staff, surveillance cameras and 24 hour reception.

Hostel Directions
BUS/TRAIN - The Bunk courtesy van can pick you up from the bus or train at The Brisbane Transit Centre. Just call us when you arrive.
PLANE - From the airport catch the air train ($12) and get off at Brunswick St Station, it's the first backpacker accommodation stop from the airport and we're just around the corner from the station.
Alternatively, just walk to the coachtrans desk and ask for a ticket to Bunk ($11).
