Our Beaches 4WD Self Drive Camping Safari is something very special! Experience Fraser Island your own way for 3 days and 2 nights. Beaches puts together groups of like-minded travellers, provides a fantastic vehicle and camping equipment, along with driving tips, maps and itineraries, allowing you to set off on your very own Fraser Island Adventure! We?ve made it even better recently with the introduction of Beaches Base Camp, a dedicated camp site in a central location on the Eastern Beach with access to showers & toilets, fresh water, covered areas, BBQ & cooking facilities. Base Camp is exclusive to Beaches and best of all, you only need to set up camp once, leaving you even more time to explore the island!!
Hervey Bay is world famous as a resting point of the majestic humpback whales and their calves on their return to the Antarctic. A variety of Whale Watching Tours operate from Hervey Bay from late July through to early November.

Experience Fraser Island and stay at Beaches Backpackers for an experience to remember!
