About us:
Back of Chapel is a recently renovated 150 year old Victorian Terrace on the doorstep of Chapel Street - one of Melbourne's most funky and exciting areas! We've a huge fully equipped kitchen, private showers, recliner chairs, comfy couches, internet access, brand spanking new coil beds, balconies, reading room, TV lounge (you really have to see the size of the TV to believe it!) We have a leafy courtyard, air-conditioning in common rooms, BBQ, laundry facilities, phew, what else! How about free daily breakfast, free BBQs, free tea and coffee, free lockers, free pie and chip nights. Have we got your attention yet?
We have the combination of 6 bed shared dorms and 4 bed shared dorms as well as double private rooms and a triple private room.
We're only a hop, skip and a jump from St. Kilda and the City! We're a block from the train station and have a tram line at our door step.
Our enthusiastic staff can direct you in whichever way you wish.
Our aim is to uphold our reputation of being the friendliest hostel in Melbourne.
Location:
We are located in the funkiest part of town - just off Chapel Street; Back of Chapel is within walking distance to the beach, bars, cafe's, clubs and the city.
Late Check ins: Reception hours are 8am to 9pm most days so if you plan to check in outside these times please let us know in advance so that we may provide you with a late check-in procedure!
Cancellation:
We require 48 hour notice of cancellation and all no shows will be required to pay the full amount of the first night at our full rate not the discounted rate.
Holidays and peak seasons full amount will be charged for no shows.
For Back of Chapel2 we have one double available from early September min. 2 weeks

Hostel Directions
by SHUTTLE:
There is a shuttle that will take you from the airport to Spencer St.
in the city. When there you can walk or take a short tram trip to Flinders St., then get to Back of Chapel via tram or train or car.by TRAM:
Number 6 goes from Swanston St., City (can be caught from Flinders St.
Station) to corner of High St. and Chapel St., get off tram and turn right into Chapel St. A one minute walk will get you to Green St. on your right, 30m down on your left you will find Back of Chapel.
by TRAIN:
Take Sandringham line from Flinders/Spencer st. stations to Winsdor
station (4 stops) turn left on Chapel st., walk 2 blocks and we are the second on your left ( Green st.)
by TAXI:
Taxis and hire cars are abundant in Melbourne at airports, train
stations, etc. You can wave one off the street when it has one light on.
Two lights = busy, no lights = off duty.
