Hostel Description
The backpackers hostel is directly behind the B&B and is a basic turn of the centry 5 bedroom villa with two bathrooms a small lounge and small equipped basic kitchen. The backpackers has twin rooms double rooms and 1 -4 bedded room. The en-suite room advertised is in the B&B and is a lovely room with electric blankets TV in room hairdryer etc.
Staying at Arden Street House is safe, clean, comfortable and affordable. The B&B commands impressive views over the north of Dunedin. One particularly impressive building that is visible from the front windows is Knox College, originally a training facility for Presbyterian ministers - it is now a home to first year students from the University of Otago and a theological college.
We have found two meanings to the word Arden. They were so lovely we thought we share them with you: The Greek and Latin meanings of the word 'Arden' are 'Eden' and 'Paradise' - this seems rather appropriate!
Dunedin Arts and Music Scene
With its high proportion of students and artists, Dunedin has a lively arts scene. Music-lovers, in particular, will be able to witness a huge variety of talent at many live venues around the city, many located within a short distance of Arden Street House.
Eco-Tourism
Arden Street House practices recycling! All bottles, cans, plastic and cardboard are recycled. Organic dinner choices available 7 days a week. Joyce can also assist you in arranging site-seeing and eco-tours.

from south take one way system through town following the Timaru signs untill see Timaru to the left and North East Valley straight ahead. Take North East Valley signs. Though stop sign straight through traffic lights onto North Rd

Take north east valley signs onto North Rd first Street on the right is Glendinning Ave go up her to Arden St Number 36.
