Book the Best Hostels in Hua Hin
There are no traditional hostels in Hua Hin, but there are many budget hotels and other places that should suit anyone who was looking for a Hua Hin hostel. This is one of the oldest resort areas in Thailand and prices of hotels range from quite reasonable to crazy high, but the Hua Hin hostel crowd can find budget places listed on sites like this.
Being a beach resort, closeness to the water is a major factor on price. Several of the more expensive listings here are on the beach, but staying a block or two away can save a lot of money. For the same price as a basic place on the beach you can get a really nice room just a couple blocks inland. The decision will obviously be yours, but there is much more to do in Hua Hin than just the beach so consider it carefully.
The night market is a huge draw so being close to that area is a big deal, especially to the Hua Hin hostel crowd. There are actually two night markets in Hua Hin. The main and more-touristy one is right in the middle of the city and they sell nearly everything you can think of, but the other one is more interesting in many ways. It’s in the parking lot of the Grand Hotel and goes Wednesday through Sunday nights.
Hua Hin is known for its abundance of cheap golf courses, which isn’t a thing you’d expect the Hua Hin hostel crowd to care about, but since green fees are so low here you might actually consider it. It’s a resort area after all, so act like you are a person of leisure for a few days!
The Thipurai City Hotel is one of the cheaper hotels in the city. It’s not right on the beach, but it is a deluxe and fairly luxurious place a couple blocks from the sand. They’ve got a swimming pool on the 5th floor roof and their own restaurant. Rooms start around US$19 per person per night for a double, and that includes breakfast.
The Ta-Kiab Beach Resort is a bit south of the city center, but it’s a low price hotel right on the beach so it should appeal to the Hua Hin hostel crowd. It’s only about a 5-minute walk to the city center, and it’s in the historic part of the city near several fancy resorts so everything you need will be at your fingertips. Of course, they don’t have dorm rooms, but they do have cheap private rooms. Prices start around US$22 per night per person for a double, and this is including breakfast.
The Doodi Guesthouse may not have the greatest name, but it’s another cheap hotel that should really appeal to the Hua Hin hostel crowd. It’s about 10 minutes walk from the city center, but there are restaurants and other nightlife nearby. Prices start around US$20 per night per person, not including breakfast, but they’ve got a roof garden which is very popular for sunbathing.
